Spring is in full swing and NYC’s restaurant scene is keeping pace. Here’s your borough-by-borough roundup of what’s new and what’s gone in the last 48 hours.
Quick Bites: What You Need to Know
Opening Now: Oyatte (Midtown East tasting menu), Yesterday’s bar (West Village, opens tomorrow April 10). Coming Soon: Marcel at the Breuer Building (April 16), Daniel Boulud’s new brasserie (Lincoln Square, spring 2026). Notable: Luckin Coffee now has multiple NYC locations up and running.
Manhattan
Opening: Oyatte — Midtown East
One of spring’s most anticipated openings landed this week. Oyatte, a 30-seat tasting menu restaurant from chef Hasung Lee — who has cooked at Atomix, The French Laundry, and Copenhagen’s Geranium — opened reservations April 4 and has been seating guests since. The address is 39th Street and Lexington Avenue in Midtown East. Don’t expect a walk-in situation: this one is reservation-only and seats fill fast.
Opening: Yesterday’s Bar — West Village
An old-school New York vibe is coming to Bleecker Street with Yesterday’s, opening April 10 in the West Village. The bar promises a classic NYC neighborhood feel — the kind of spot that feels like it’s been there for decades even on opening night. Hours will be Monday–Wednesday 4 pm–midnight, Thursday 4 pm–2 am, and Friday noon–4 am. Perfect for post-work drinks or a late-night stretch on the weekend.
Coming April 16: Marcel at the Breuer Building
The historic Breuer Building on the Upper East Side will welcome Marcel on April 16. Developed with Roman and Williams, the restaurant brings sophisticated French cuisine from Parisian chef-partner Marie-Aude Rose and executive chef Juan Moncalvo. The vibe is warm 1960s-inspired, with custom brass fixtures, vintage lighting, and views into an open kitchen and sculpture garden. There’s also a café and patisserie component, so you don’t need to drop tasting-menu money to experience the space.
Coming This Spring: Daniel Boulud’s New Brasserie — Lincoln Square
After closing his trio of Lincoln Square restaurants, Daniel Boulud is preparing to launch a sprawling two-floor all-day brasserie and bar in the neighborhood. No firm date yet, but this is one of the most watched openings of 2026. Expect it sometime this spring.
Opening: Carver 48 — Midtown
A modern steakhouse called Carver 48 is also landing in Midtown this spring, adding to the neighborhood’s carnivore roster. Details are still rolling in, but it’s expected to open in the coming weeks.
Lower East Side & East Village
Opening: Tin’s Cocktail Bar — Lower East Side
Tin’s is an upcoming cocktail bar on the Lower East Side with a food program from a chef who previously worked at Korean tasting menu spot bōm. The menu will include sheng jian bao — pan-fried soup dumplings — among other bites. Opening timeline is imminent; keep an eye on their socials.
Brooklyn
Opening: Trudie’s Tavern — Carroll Gardens
The team behind beloved Carroll Gardens spot Gertie is opening Trudie’s Tavern, a bar and grill serving burgers, raw bar items, martinis, and latkes. If Gertie is any indication, this is going to be one of the neighborhood’s go-to spots quickly. Address TBA — follow the Gertie team on Instagram for the exact timing.
Closings
No major permanent closings confirmed specifically in the last 48 hours for NYC proper. The restaurant scene continues its spring momentum with far more openings than closings this week — a welcome sign for the city’s dining landscape.
