BronxWorks Lifting Lives Gala Is Tuesday—Here’s What to Know

BronxWorks is holding its 2026 Lifting Lives Gala this Tuesday, May 12, at 583 Park Avenue in Manhattan — and there is still time to grab tickets, bid in the online silent auction, or simply learn more about an organization that has been one of the Bronx’s most essential community institutions since 1972.

The gala runs from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM and serves as both a celebration and a fundraiser for BronxWorks’ wide range of services. When you support the event, the money goes directly toward what BronxWorks delivers every day to Bronx residents: eviction prevention and aftercare, homeless services for adults and families, workforce development, legal aid, immigration services, health and wellness programs, education and youth development, benefits assistance, and care for older adults.

Tickets and sponsorships are available at bronxworksgala.givesmart.com. Questions can be sent to gala@bronxworks.org.

Who’s Being Honored

This year’s gala recognizes three honorees whose contributions — to their fields and to BronxWorks — have made a real difference.

Susan Camerata, Principal and Chief Financial Officer of Wavecrest Management, is being honored for her leadership in real estate management that supports the Bronx’s housing infrastructure.

Barrett Feldman, a BronxWorks Board Member and Principal of PSF Projects Architecture, has guided the organization through years of growth and helped shape the physical spaces where its services are delivered.

Michelle E. Phillips, Principal at Jackson Lewis P.C.’s White Plains office, brings legal expertise to BronxWorks’ mission of supporting residents navigating some of the most complex systems imaginable — housing courts, benefits appeals, immigration proceedings.

The Evening’s Guests

The special guest for the evening is Lynda Lopez, midday anchor at 1010 WINS and one of New York’s most recognized voices in local radio and journalism. Serving as Mistress of Ceremonies is Audrey Puente, Meteorologist and Feature Reporter at FOX 5 New York.

Silent Auction — Closes May 18

Even if you can’t attend in person, BronxWorks’ online silent auction is open now and includes a range of items and experiences. The auction closes Monday, May 18, 2026 at 3:00 PM. You can browse and bid at e.givesmart.com/events/NG0/i/.

Why BronxWorks Matters

BronxWorks has served the Bronx community since 1972, adapting its programs decade by decade to meet whatever crisis is most acute. The organization is built on a belief that addressing immediate need and breaking the generational cycle of poverty are not competing goals — they are part of the same mission.

Their programs address acute crises — if someone is about to be evicted, is sleeping on the street, or has just lost a job, BronxWorks is one of the first places they can turn. But the organization also invests in longer-term financial empowerment, career training, and educational support, so that the people it serves can build lives that don’t require emergency intervention the next time something goes wrong.

“When you support the BronxWorks Lifting Lives Gala, you help us implement lasting progress for our neighbors in need,” the organization writes. “We also strive to break the generational cycle of poverty that affects thousands of our neighbors.”

BronxWorks’ administrative office is located at 60 E. Tremont Ave., Bronx, NY 10453. You can reach the organization at (646) 393-4000.
