Sunday subway riders, heads up. If you’re traveling on the A, C, N, F, or R lines today, the MTA has active service changes that will affect your route. Here’s your quick-scan guide to what’s running — and what isn’t — so you can plan before you head out.
What Lines Are Affected
A & C Lines — Lower Manhattan Disruption
Active now through 5 a.m. Monday
A and C trains are running on the F line in both directions between West 4th Street–Washington Square and Jay St–MetroTech due to track maintenance. This is a significant reroute affecting riders heading into lower Manhattan.
- For Spring Street, Canal Street, Chambers Street (World Trade Center): Take the E train instead.
- For Fulton Street: Take the J train or use the nearby World Trade Center E station.
- For High Street: Use the nearby York Street F station.
A Line — Ozone Park / Lefferts Boulevard Disruption
Active through 10 p.m. Sunday
A trains are not running between Rockaway Boulevard and Ozone Park–Lefferts Boulevard. Trains to and from Ozone Park–Lefferts Boulevard are rerouting to and from Howard Beach–JFK Airport instead.
- Manhattan-bound A trains are skipping Rockaway Boulevard and 88th Street.
- If you need those stops, check MTA bus alternatives or allow extra travel time.
N Line — Queens–Manhattan Gap
Active now through 5 a.m. Monday
N trains are not running between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square–42nd Street due to track replacement work. The N is running in two separate sections: Astoria–Ditmars Boulevard to Queensboro Plaza, and Coney Island–Stillwell Avenue to Times Square–42nd Street.
- To travel between Queens and Midtown Manhattan, take the 7 train.
- The 7 runs frequently on Sundays and serves Times Square, Grand Central, and Queens Boulevard.
F & R Lines — Queens Plaza Reroute
All day Saturday and Sunday
R trains are running on the F line via Roosevelt Island between 36th Street and 57th Street–Seventh Avenue in both directions due to track replacement work.
- For Queens Plaza, take the E train.
- R train riders in this corridor should expect longer travel times and possible crowding on the F.
Commuter Tip
Sunday travel hack: With the N, A/C, and R all running modified service today, the 7 train and E train are your most reliable fallbacks for Queens-to-Manhattan trips. The 7 runs frequently on Sundays and serves Times Square, Grand Central, and Queens Boulevard. Download the free MTA TrainTime app for real-time tracking and push alerts before you leave home.
Planning Ahead: Service Restores Monday
All of today’s disruptions are expected to clear by 5 a.m. Monday, so your Monday morning commute should run on regular schedules. If you’re an early Monday commuter traveling before 5 a.m., factor in possible overlap.
For the most current status on any line, check the MTA alerts page, the MTA app on iOS or Android, or use Google Maps and Apple Maps — both pull live MTA data.
Stay flexible out there, New York — and check before you swipe.
