Bronx New Openings: City Island Restaurant Week Kicks Off

The Bronx is buzzing this week with its first-ever City Island Restaurant Week, a brand-new trampoline park drawing families to Belmont, and new food experiences arriving at Yankee Stadium just in time for the season. Here’s your guide to what’s new and opening across the borough.

City Island’s First-Ever Restaurant Week Starts Today

Starting today, April 7, and running through Sunday, April 12, City Island Restaurant Week is bringing deals and special menus to 15 of the island’s beloved restaurants. Organized by the City Island Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Flavors of NY, this is the first time the waterfront dining destination has hosted its own restaurant week — and it’s a big deal.

Participating spots span the full range of City Island’s dining scene, from seafood institutions to BBQ joints, Irish pubs to Italian kitchens, and Greek to Mediterranean flavors. Among the highlights:

Tony’s Pier, which has been operating since 1959, is offering an 8-ounce rib-eye steak with lobster tail and four shrimp for $42 — a serious deal for surf and turf. Just note: it’s cash only and cafeteria-style ordering.

Sea Shore, the oldest operating restaurant on City Island (established 1920), is featuring filet of sole with broiled shrimp in white wine sauce, and every meal comes with a complimentary bread tray, cheese, and crudité.

Silent Sea, a newly opened upscale Greek restaurant, is participating alongside longtime favorites like Sammy’s Fish Box and Sammy’s Smokehouse, the BBQ offshoot that opened last summer.

Unlike NYC’s citywide restaurant week, there are no $1,000+ participation fees here — just Chamber membership and a willingness to offer specials. That grassroots approach is part of what makes it special.

Sky Zone Opens in Belmont

Sky Zone, the national trampoline park chain, has officially opened a massive 30,000-square-foot facility on the second floor of the Arabella rental building near Fordham Road at East 189th Street in Belmont. Families can now bounce on trampolines, play basketball, dodge dodgeballs, fly down zip lines, and launch into foam pits — all without leaving the Bronx. The park has been in soft-opening mode and is now fully operational.

New Eats at Yankee Stadium for 2026

With the baseball season underway, Yankee Stadium has rolled out a lineup of new food vendors and menu items that go well beyond the standard hot dog. Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is now serving apple pie, bacon cheeseburger, chicken parm, and mac and cheese dumplings. Kings Hawaiian is offering an Angry Lobster Roll and chicken parm on pretzel bun. Chef Christian Petroni’s Parm to Table stand has mozzarella en carrozza and pasta plates. And for the adventurous, there’s Chicken Drumstick Ice Cream — a mini bucket of drumstick-shaped ice cream with chocolate cookie “bones” and candied corn flakes.

Nourish Continues to Grow in Mott Haven

Nourish, the nonprofit-owned restaurant in Mott Haven, continues to expand its presence with a globally inspired menu featuring Korean fried chicken, steak frites, duck fat biscuits, and seasonal specials like ceviche. The restaurant also operates a café next door with coffee, cold drinks, and specialty items including curated olive oils. Beyond dining, Nourish serves as a workforce development center where residents can learn culinary and service skills for employment in the city’s restaurant industry.
