Staten Island June 2026 Community Events: Job Fairs, Juneteenth & More

June arrives on Staten Island with a packed community calendar — and this month’s lineup has something for nearly every resident, from job seekers and young people to families celebrating heritage and community pride. Here’s a rundown of what’s happening across the borough and how to get involved.

Justice in Motion Job Fair — Wednesday, June 3

First up this week: a Job Fair on Wednesday, June 3 starting at 10:00 AM at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park. The Justice in Motion job fair connects residents — including those with justice-involved backgrounds — with employers who are actively hiring. If you or someone you know is looking for work, this is a low-barrier, in-person opportunity to connect directly with hiring teams. Check with the event organizers for exact park location details and the list of participating employers.

16th Annual Fatherhood & Family Day — Saturday, June 6

One of the Staten Island community calendar’s annual highlights, the 16th Annual Fatherhood & Family Day returns on Saturday, June 6 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Midland Beach, Capodanno Boulevard & Lincoln Avenue.

The event celebrates fathers and family bonds with a full afternoon at one of Staten Island’s most beloved beaches. Midland Beach is a beautiful stretch of shoreline along the Lower Bay — this event makes great use of the space with activities, resources, and community programming for the whole family. Free to attend.

Borinquen Heritage Fest 2026 — Sunday, June 7

On Sunday, June 7 starting at 11:00 AM, Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden hosts the Borinquen Heritage Fest 2026, a celebration of Puerto Rican and Caribbean heritage. Snug Harbor, located at 1000 Richmond Terrace on the North Shore, is one of Staten Island’s premier cultural venues — a stunning 83-acre campus with historic buildings, gardens, and outdoor spaces that make for a natural festival setting.

The fest is a chance to celebrate community, music, food, and culture in one of the borough’s most beautiful settings. Check Snug Harbor’s website at snug-harbor.org for the latest details as the event approaches.

Job Fair at Pride Center — Saturday, June 13

A second job fair this month is set for Saturday, June 13 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pride Center of Staten Island, 66 Willow Avenue, Suite 202. This event provides a welcoming, supportive environment for LGBTQ+ job seekers and their allies to connect with employers. Staten Island’s Pride Center is a longtime community anchor providing services, programming, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ residents across the borough.

3rd Annual SI Youth Mental Health Symposium — Tuesday, June 16

A landmark event for families, educators, and young people: the 3rd Annual Staten Island Youth Mental Health Symposium: Wellness in Action takes place on Tuesday, June 16 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the College of Staten Island, Building P (Arts Center).

Now in its third year, this symposium brings together mental health professionals, community organizations, educators, and young people to address the mental health challenges facing Staten Island’s youth. The event is especially timely as summer approaches — a period that, despite its positive reputation, can be isolating for many young people without structured programming. The College of Staten Island is located at 2800 Victory Boulevard.

5th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Parade & Festival — Friday, June 19

Mark your calendar for one of June’s most significant community celebrations: the 5th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Parade & Festival at Tappen Park on Friday, June 19 starting at 12:00 PM.

Tappen Park, located in the Stapleton neighborhood on the North Shore of Staten Island, has become the gathering place for the borough’s growing Juneteenth celebration. The annual parade and festival honors the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States and celebrates Black history, culture, and community across Staten Island. Now in its fifth year, the event has grown into one of the borough’s most anticipated summer gatherings. Free and open to all.

Community Boards: June Is the Final Month Before Summer

Beyond these specific events, June is also the last regular month for Staten Island’s three community boards before summer schedules kick in. Staten Island Community Board 1 meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM at 1 Edgewater Plaza, Room 217 — that puts the June meeting on Tuesday, June 9. Contact: (718) 981-6900.

Staten Island Community Board 2 meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at 900 South Avenue, 3rd Floor, Suite 28 — that puts June’s meeting on Tuesday, June 17. Contact: (718) 568-3581.

Both boards are open to all Staten Island residents under New York State Open Meetings Law. If you have concerns about development, traffic, public safety, or local services in your neighborhood, June is the time to show up. Find your board at nyc.gov/site/cau/community-boards.

Staying Cool and Connected This Summer

As June transitions into the heart of summer, it’s also worth bookmarking the city’s heat resources.
